The Virtuosos V4+ classical music talent show is back on every weekend, from 20:45, at Virtuosos YouTube channel.
This week, the audience will find out who are the ten young Hungarians who will compete for the international finals
This year’s Hungarian selection round was held online, so the semi-finals are now underway,
which was filmed at the Royal Castle in Gödöllő. You can meet ten wonderful young artists in this episode. Some of them are big returners, but there are also new discoveries.
The semi-finals, reminiscent of the first Virtuosos seasons, will be hosted by Erika Miklósa and Ádám Bősze, with András Batta, András Keller, Erika Miklósa, János Balázs and Norbert Káel on the jury.
The Virtuosos classical music talent show, which was awarded the Prima Prize in 2023, will celebrate its tenth anniversary this year, and producer Mariann Peller is preparing for it with more interesting and exciting programmes than ever before, while at the same time offering the highest professional standards. On 7 January, the Liszt Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music hosted a major Virtuosos New Year’s Gala Concert.
The sold-out, highly successful concert featured some of the most outstanding talents of the programme’s past seasons, with the Concerto Budapest Symphony Orchestra conducted by András Keller. Among the performers were violinist Mariam Abouzahra, pianists Soma Balázs-Piri and Misi Boros, and clarinetist Ali Lugosi, while the Balogh brothers also made their debut, with 10-year-old Máté and 11-year-old Ádám stealing the audience’s hearts with their excellent piano playing. They will also be shown on the Hungarian semifinal on 14 January on Virtuosos YouTube.
During the evening, the Best Music Teacher Award, which has been presented annually since 2015, was handed over. The glass prize was presented to violin professor Dora Schwarzberg by the show’s main sponsor, MVM Group CEO Károly Mátrai.
This year, the Virtuosos format will feature a number of surprises and innovations, which will be broadcast on Virtuosos YouTube channel on 14, 19 and 26 of January at 20:45 (CET). The semi-finals of the show will be shown on 14 January, and the two-part international final on 19 and 26 January.
The next Virtuosos will perform at the Liszt Academy on 1 March, accompanied by the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
