The 10th anniversary season of Virtuosos is reaching a thrilling new chapter – this Friday on 16 May at 20:30 (CET), the first international semi-final will be broadcast live in English on the Virtuosos YouTube channel.
Once again, world-class music brings together Europe’s most talented young musicians: outstanding contestants from five countries will take the stage to show what they’ve got – and to earn their spot in the international final. Only one contestant from each country can advance, so every performance counts!
A new dynamic duo joins the hosting team: the always elegant and energetic Ida Nowakowska is joined by Pietro Polidori, who brings his unique style and enthusiasm to make the evening even more special.
Contestants in the first international semi-final:
Hungary: Bence Csákvári (13, recorder), Gáspár Kelemen (17, violin)
Slovenia: Lukas Grum (15, flute), Leonard Kobal (20, piano)
Austria: Dylan Russell (12, cello), Raphaël Bleuse (17, violin)
Montenegro: Petar Nikolić (16, guitar), Mitar Žižić (14, piano)
Serbia: Vuk Petrović (15, saxophone), Uroš Adamović (20, violin)
These remarkable young artists will be judged by an exceptional panel of internationally acclaimed musicians:
Dimash Qudaibergen – world-famous Kazakh singer and composer
István Várdai – Liszt Award-winning cellist, head of department at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna
Albert Carreras – Board member of the José Carreras Leukemia Foundation
András Keller – Kossuth Award-winning violinist and conductor, artistic director of Concerto Budapest
Plácido Domingo Jr. – singer, songwriter and producer
Gergely Bogányi – Kossuth Award-winning pianist
István Kohán Jr. – Hungarian clarinetist based in Tokyo
Yinuo Wang – Chinese soprano opera singer
